My name is Roma Williams, M.A., LMFT. Over the last 8 years, I have worked as a Marriage & Family Therapist in non-profit and community mental health agencies, as well as private practice. I have experience working with children and adolescents, families, individuals and couples, of all age and ethnicities, but I have focused on adult populations mostly over the last 4 years. My goal when working with clients is to help them achieve their best quality of life. I do this by highlighting client’s strengths and assist them in navigating through their challenges, in a collaborative approach. In addition to my work as a therapist, I am currently in the process of becoming an AAMFT approved supervisor, where I supervise student therapist in training.
As a marriage and family therapist, I understand that our experiences shape who we become and our relationships can show us more of who we are and why we connect with others. It is my job to work with my clients in order to help them navigate through life’s uncertainties, and challenges as they arise. The study and practice of marriage and family therapy is unlike any other in the psychotherapy field, in that we focus on the systems that are present in our lives, as well as the lives of our clients. In addition to my skills and training doing individual and relational work, being a trauma informed marriage and family therapist, as equipped me with a skill set that can assist clients identify trauma responses and learn tools to help them find peace.
I am currently accepting new clients in the Houston, Texas area (Pearland) for in person session ,as well as all of Georgia and Texas for telehealth sessions.
